For your consideration
If you like photography, the outdoors, travel, and more – I have another Substack that may be of interest to you, my discerning readers.
Hello subscribers! I am painfully aware that it’s been an awful long while since I put out a decent edition of The Mile, but please bear with me.
I have had a bit of a torrid time with actual work that pays (or rather doesn’t) my bills of late, but I have also been working on another Substack newsletter in the background that I recently brought to light.
If you enjoyed this post then you may enjoy my newest Substack – The View Finder – which is entirely dedicated to my photography. It will cover film and digital, all different subjects and ideas around the topic, as well as recommendations of great photographers to follow, philosophy on taking pictures, and other general nonsense.
My main reason for starting this new newsletter is that I’m actually pretty sick of the stranglehold that certain California-based tech companies have on how we share our photos as artists. I’m rebelling by putting more of my eggs in the Substack basket, which let’s be honest, is a much nicer, and more engaged community.
More on the ethos here:
So, I apologise for the shameless plug, and this definitely doesn’t mean The Mile is finished, just that I’m refocussing my efforts for a while until I figure out what is best for me. The Mile will remain, but maybe a touch more sporadic (if that were possible).
I have a half marathon and World Marathon Major to train for in the coming months, so you will definitely be hearing about the trails and tribulations of those.
Thanks to all of you and see you on the road/trail soon.
David
